"Fashion is fleeting, style is eternal"

Welcome to another great interest of mine: Fashion.
"A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous." ~Coco Chanel

Just a little sketch...

Some inspiration...
(Left: my mini binder of sketches, notes, little stories, etc.
Middle: my absolute favorite magazine... People Style Watch
Right: a new book I recently began... it tells about designers, garment construction, ways to get into the fashion world, and little tips and notes on fabric, color coordination and so on.)

Sketching.. Drawing.. Thinking..

These were the product of a fun little game. Here's how it goes:
  • write all sorts of words on a slip of paper
  • put them in the bag
  • pull one out randomly and begin drawing based off of the word
  • let your drawing and imagination take you anywhere.. even if it doesn't line up with the word.
My first sketch began with the word "intricate" and the second with the word "tree."
Intricate: This is a sketch of the process of making a gown, specifically it is Chanel's little black dress and handbag.
Tree: Starbucks tree! The trunk is a Starbucks cup and straw with little branches and coffee cups coming off all over. In the top left corner is a cup of coffee raining down to help the Starbucks tree grow!

Happy Sweet 16 to Me!

Last Wednesday (October 26) was my 16th birthday! I spent the day going out to lunch, SHOPPING, dinner with a friend, and going to youth group! Friday I celebrated with some friends. We all dressed up in cute dresses and skirts and had a sort of a tea party.. here's a picture of the table decorations...

"Open up the doors and let the music play
Let the streets resound with singing
Songs that bring your hope
Songs that bring your joy
Dancers who dance upon injustice"
